The brilliance of this conspiracy theory is the simple assumed premise that mail-in voting is not only necessary, but inevitable for the upcoming elections this November. The evolution and dissemination of the conspiracy theory is well-documented and ultimately irrelevant. Mail-in voting cannot be allowed in the upcoming election because elections, to be considered “legitimate," must have a basis of trust.
